This is not a styling upgrade. It is the same magnesium blank used on the Porsche GT3 RS. Now available exclusively for the BMW G8X M3 and M4 platform.
What is the BBS MAG-R?
The MAG-R is the latest evolution of BBS Motorsport wheel technology. It is a one-piece, fully forged magnesium wheel. No modular construction. No compromises.
Developed by BBS Motorsport, the MAG-R uses the same base blank as the GT3 RS magnesium wheels. That alone tells you everything about its intent.
Forged magnesium construction
Magnesium is significantly lighter than aluminum. However, it is also far more complex to work with. That is why only a few manufacturers in the world can forge it at scale.
BBS Motorsport has decades of experience with magnesium in racing. The MAG-R benefits directly from this heritage. Strength, stiffness and thermal behavior are optimized for track abuse.
BMW G80 / G82 specific fitment
At launch, the BBS MAG-R is available exclusively for:
- BMW G80 / G81 M3
- BMW G82 / G83 M4

This aggressive fitment is designed around performance tires, high lateral loads and track-focused alignment.
Weight and performance impact
Each BBS MAG-R wheel weighs approximately 8 kg. That is exceptionally light for a 20-inch wheel.
Reducing unsprung mass improves:

On a G8X M car, this translates into a noticeably sharper driving experience. Especially during repeated high-load track sessions.
Available finishes
Despite its motorsport focus, the MAG-R offers multiple finish options. Standard BBS finishes include:

- Silver
- Midnight Gold
In addition, Porsche-inspired colors such as Neodym or Ceramica White (911 ST) are available as optional finishes upon request.
