How factory ride-height sensors work
A vehicle with factory air suspension uses ride-height sensors to measure the position of the body relative to the suspension. Each sensor is connected to a suspension arm or axle component by a short mechanical link.
As the suspension moves, the link rotates the sensor arm. The sensor sends this position information to the suspension control unit, which uses the compressor, valves and air springs to maintain the required vehicle height.

How BAAN Lowering Links can be adjusted while installed
The BAAN central adjuster uses opposing left-hand and right-hand threads. Turning the central section changes the complete link length while both ends remain connected to the vehicle.
This turnbuckle-style construction allows the installer to fine-tune the ride height without repeatedly releasing the sockets from the factory sensor balls.
Loosen the mechanical locking nuts on both sides.
Rotate the knurled aluminium central adjuster.
Measure the resulting link length or vehicle height.
Tighten both locking nuts after selecting the final position.
Adjustment direction varies by vehicle
Lengthening a link may lower one axle on one platform, while shortening it may be required on another. Front and rear adjustment directions may also differ on the same vehicle. Always follow the vehicle-specific starting dimensions and instructions supplied with the kit.

05 — INSTALLATION
General BAAN Lowering Links installation procedure
Most installations take approximately 60–120 minutes for an experienced installer. Access, number of links and required tools differ between vehicle platforms.
Establish a baseline
Set normal tyre pressures, select the normal road suspension mode and measure from each wheel centre to the corresponding wheel arch.
Prepare the suspension system
Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s procedure for lifting or disabling automatic suspension adjustment before raising the vehicle.
Locate the ride-height sensors
Identify the factory sensor links at the relevant front and rear suspension positions.
Remove the factory links carefully
Release the original sockets while supporting the sensor arm. Never use the plastic sensor arm as a lever.
Set the initial BAAN dimensions
Use the vehicle-specific baseline measurements. Do not assume the front and rear links require the same adjustment direction.
Install the adjustable links
Seat every socket fully on its original ball stud and install the supplied safety-retaining clips.
Secure the selected settings
Verify the position and orientation of each link before tightening the mechanical locking nuts.
Settle and measure the vehicle
Lower the vehicle, reactivate the suspension if required, complete a short settling drive and repeat all four measurements.
06 — FINAL SETUP
Ride-height measurement, settling and alignment
The most accurate practical ride-height measurement is normally taken from the centre of the wheel hub vertically to the wheel-arch edge. This avoids tyre sidewall and tyre-pressure differences affecting the measurement.
- Measure the vehicle before removing the original links.
- Use the same suspension mode for every comparison.
- Work on a flat and level surface.
- Adjust the left and right sides of each axle equally.
- Make small changes rather than selecting the maximum drop immediately.
- Allow the suspension to complete its self-levelling cycle.
- Complete a short settling drive before taking final measurements.
- Check inner and outer tyre clearance.

Lowering range is vehicle-specific

Factory sensor arms can be plastic and should be supported while releasing the original socket.
Installing clips incorrectly
Every safety-retaining clip must be fully seated before the vehicle is driven.
Leaving locking nuts loose
An unsecured central adjuster can rotate and change the selected link length.
Making large adjustments immediately
Start from the supplied baseline and work in small, measured increments.
Measuring on an uneven surface
Floor angle, tyre pressure and vehicle load can produce misleading height measurements.
Choosing maximum lowering without checking clearance

Vehicle-specific BAAN Lowering Links applications
BAAN Lowering Links are available for selected models equipped with the relevant factory air-suspension system. Compatibility depends on vehicle generation, suspension type and, for some applications, axle configuration.
Not every kit contains four links
Most vehicles with air suspension on both axles use a complete front and rear set. Vehicles with rear-only air suspension may require two links. Front-lift sensor correction kits are a separate product type. The exact contents are stated on each product page.
SEPARATE PRODUCT TYPE
Air-suspension lowering links versus front-lift sensor links
BAAN front-lift sensor links for vehicles such as the Lamborghini Huracán and Lamborghini Revuelto are not air-suspension lowering links.
Springs or another suspension modification determine the actual vehicle height. The adjustable front-lift links correct the sensor geometry after lowering so that the factory lifting system can operate within its intended sensor range.
