BAAN AIRMATIC Lowering Links for Mercedes-Benz CLS C257 are a model-specific mechanical lowering solution for the Mercedes-Benz CLS C257 equipped with factory AIRMATIC air suspension.
For the Mercedes-Benz CLS C257, ride height has a major influence on how the body and wheel package read as one design. This BAAN kit is intended to reinforce the sweeping C257 silhouette with a lower, more continuous body-to-wheel line.
Product overview
- Model-specific starting dimensions rather than a universal one-size-fits-all link.
- Independent axle setup for a balanced front-to-rear stance.
- Precision-machined construction with critical dimensions checked using 0.001 mm-resolution measuring equipment.
- Direct sensor-ball fitment with stainless-steel sockets and safety-retaining clips.
- Mechanical, reversible operation without adding a signal-interception module.
The vehicle-specific starting dimensions are intended to simplify installation. Final measurements should still be taken at all four wheel arches because production tolerances and vehicle equipment can influence the measured result.
Technical data for the CLS C257

Production dimensions are checked with precision equipment with a display resolution of 0.001 mm.
Adjusting front and rear ride height
Ride height is continuously adjustable rather than limited to a fixed drop. The normal working range is from close to the original setting to approximately 50 mm lower on the front and rear axles.
The selected stance should be based on real measurements after the air suspension has settled in its normal road mode.
Operating principle
The product works at the point where suspension movement is translated into sensor movement. By recalibrating that relationship mechanically, the CLS C257 can sit lower while continuing to use its standard suspension interface and self-levelling logic.
What arrives in the box?
You receive a complete model-specific kit for both axles. No separate electronic controller is needed. Reuse of the original sensor balls is part of the direct-fit installation.
Fitment requirements
This product is intended for the following application when equipped with factory AIRMATIC air suspension:
- CLS C257
Suspension specifications can vary by market, model year and optional equipment. Send BaanVelgen the VIN when confirmation is required before ordering.
Correct installation procedure
The links are a direct sensor-link replacement and generally require around 60–90 minutes to install. Record the wheel-centre-to-arch measurements, begin from the supplied baseline and make only small symmetrical adjustments.
For vehicles with large aftermarket wheels, also check inner tyre clearance at steering lock and under compression before selecting the final height.
Common questions
Can the height be adjusted without removing the links?
Yes. Opposing left-hand and right-hand threads allow the centre adjuster to be rotated while both sockets remain connected to the vehicle.
Does the kit require coding?
No. The ride-height change is created mechanically and does not require software coding or an electronic lowering module.
Will the original suspension modes remain available?
Yes. The factory controls and selectable suspension modes remain available, although the vehicle operates around the newly selected static height.
Should the alignment be checked?
Yes. A wheel-alignment check is recommended after the vehicle has settled, particularly with a larger drop or non-standard wheels.
Can the original height be restored?
Yes. The links can be readjusted and the original factory links can also be reinstalled.
