Frequently Asked Questions
Performance Exhaust System FAQ
What is the difference between Akrapovič and IPE exhaust systems?
Akrapovič exhaust systems are known for their lightweight titanium construction, OEM-level fitment and refined sound characteristics. IPE exhaust systems focus on maximum emotion and feature aggressive sound profiles combined with advanced valvetronic technology for adjustable sound levels.
Does a performance exhaust system increase horsepower?
Many performance exhaust systems improve exhaust flow and reduce backpressure. Depending on the vehicle and exhaust configuration, this can result in improved throttle response, enhanced sound and modest horsepower gains.
What is a valvetronic exhaust system?
A valvetronic exhaust system uses electronically controlled valves that allow the driver to switch between a quieter mode and a more aggressive exhaust note. This provides greater flexibility for both daily driving and spirited use.
What is the difference between titanium and stainless steel exhaust systems?
Titanium exhaust systems are lighter and often produce a sharper, more exotic sound. Stainless steel exhaust systems are extremely durable and offer excellent performance while typically being more cost-effective.
Which exhaust brand is best for Porsche?
Popular exhaust brands for Porsche models include Akrapovič, IPE, Capristo and Novitec. The best choice depends on your goals, whether you prioritize sound, weight reduction, daily usability or maximum performance.
